Johnny Ball- coach, CrossFit Level 1 trainer
I started coaching in 2001 at my local high school as a volunteer strength coach and started Professionally in 2004 as the head strength coach for Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. I have been Coaching, programming, and teaching ever since. I started CrossFit in 2006 when I was finished with my college football playing career. I enjoyed training and loved the methodology. As a coach I love watching my students / athletes achieve their goals. I find my fulfillment in serving others. Seeing others succeed with hard work is the greatest joy I find as a coach.
One of the things I would tell anyone considering CrossFit is we did not land in our current situation overnight. It took many many days, weeks and months to be where we are. Change only occurs when the pain to stay the same is greater than the pain to change. It only starts with a simple step, one at a time. Don't look at the totality of the work, focus on the singular daily task, and be grateful for its completion. Consistency yields change. Pressure, heat, and time create diamonds. Be grateful for the bulls that bucked you off.
