2022 July Spotlight Athlete- Kate Lambert
We’re happy to introduce you to our July Spotlight athlete, Kate Lambert. She’s been with us only 7 months but has inserted herself into the community as if she’s been there from the beginning. CFZ wouldn’t feel the same without her. Kate has competed on the highest level in the professional sport of water skiing and that’s even after a possible career ending injury. The same determination she used to return to her sport is what she brings into the gym to overcome any of the obstacles in her way. It’s truly wonderful to see. If you have the opportunity to partner up with her on our Saturday Partner WOD’s take it. She pushes you to levels you didn’t know you could access. If you see her around ask her how she came back from her injury to win a world championship in water skiing. It’s very inspiring. Also check out below what she has to say about her time with us at CrossFit Zachary. Congratulations Kate on all your achievements and we’re happy you chose our community to be a part of. If you’ve been ready to make a change in your fitness journey, shoot us a message and let us help you.
What brought me to CFZ - I wanted a change of pace in my workouts so figured I would give it a try.
First impression - CFZ has a great group of people, coaches and members. They are fun, down to earth, and very supportive and open to new members! And I enjoy that they do some activities outside of the gym too like dinner to get to know everyone better.
First bright spot- This is hard because CrossFit wasn’t really knew to me. Maybe finally stringing together like 20 double-unders, even though I still look absolutely terrible doing them.... lol
Working on now - double-unders... and I want to get a consistent bar muscle up
Favorite CFZ memory - Saturday partner workouts are all great memories. And one of the first ones I did I got partnered with Courtney (thanks Kelbert) she about killed me but it also really pushed me and I was pretty proud of myself for holding my own!
