2021 November Spotlight Athlete- Felisha Elloie

This month we decided to shine the spotlight on one of our more quiet yet consistent members. Felisha shows up for the 4:00pm class each week usually not knowing what the workout is for that day. Without fail, she gets her mind in the right place and she attacks the workouts with the necessary intensity to get the desired results. Our coaches love watching all of our clients achieve their personal best results but it’s especially rewarding when you know someone’s consistency is rewarded with results as well. Before you know it that client is lifting heavier weight and finishing the Workout of the Day much faster than expected. That’s what Felisha has been experiencing and we have no doubt that she’s earned the title of November Spotlight Athlete. Congratulations and we’re anticipating even more results. Read below about her time with us and what she has planned for the future. We know she’ll accomplish it.

Q: WHY DID YOU JOIN US?
A: I initially joined CrossFit after researching how to cope with anxiety naturally. The one method that caught my attention was releasing a hormone called endorphin within your body. It was then I decided to step out of my comfort zone and help myself without resulting to medicine.

Q: WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SINCE JOINING US?
A: My Biggest accomplishment have been learning my body and being able to control my anxiety(for the most part) without meds. And of course being able to deadlift 235lbs!!! My strength has increased tremendously.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
A: I'm working on my upper body strength right now. I want to climb the ropes and do toes to bar like a pro. Oh and I would like to perfect my double under as well.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY AT OUR GYM?
A: My favorite memory is my first time experiencing CrossFit Games. I was feeling intimidated but the family vibe that's associated with this gym trumps all defeated feelings. That's my favorite memory but the family is my favorite part here!

Q: WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO CONTINUE TRAINING HERE?
A: The thing that motivates me the most is me wanting to be the best I can be for my family. When I look at my kids, I want to be in my best mood. I want them to know they're receiving me at my best. I know my reason for being here isn't the most traditional but it's what works for me. All the extra benefits such as the knowledgeable coaches and an accountability partner(Tarra Joseph, Thank You!) is just a major bonus for me. Thanks for this opportunity:)
